The pandemic has been terrible for so many people in so many different ways.  One thing that helped me throughout this period is cycling, and earlier this year I signed up for Ride Across Britain, aka LeJog (Land’s End to John o’Groats).  I know I’m incredibly fortunate to have the time, resources and good health to be able to do this, so I wanted to use this opportunity to raise awareness and funds for a brilliant local charity close to my heart. 

The Dons Local Action Group was created by AFC Wimbledon fans in response to the pandemic.  As a lifelong Wimbledon supporter, I’m incredibly proud of how this amazing group of dedicated fans have been able to rally round in such a short time to help the local community, from supplying food boxes to those in need, to refurbishing laptops for schoolchildren who have difficulty accessing online lessons.  

The ride is going to be a big challenge for me, but I hope to find the inspiration to carry on when the going gets tough, knowing I’m doing it for the Dons Local Action Group.
