St Luke’s is an independent charity caring for terminally ill adults and their loved ones across Sheffield. Each year, we care for around 1,900 patients most of whom are cared for in their own home by our Specialist Palliative Care Community team.

Story

Hi.
I'm David Spilman and I intend to run one 10k each day for ten consecutive days from the 1st April - 10th in order to raise money for St Luke's hospice.
If you watched Look North on Friday 5th March you may have seen a man in St Leonard's hospice York. He is 37 years old, has a wife and an 18 month old daughter. He also has terminal cancer and was shown on TV writing to his daughter in order that she can hear him in later life.
His name is Jordan and he's my cousin. He's my reason for trying to help the hospice.
I realise that this may tug at the heart strings and I'm sorry if this causes pain for anyone who has been down this road. I'm not sorry for putting Jordans situation to you as a reason for giving.
He is a long way from being the only person who is in this dreadful situation. The hospice has been a marvelous support to him and his family over the past weeks.
So my appeal is for you to use my giving page to donate whatever you feel able, as every penny will help St Luke's hospice function and provide other people with the best life they can have while awaiting their end.
Many thanks for taking the trouble to read this.
David Spilman.
