Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online, every little donation helps.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: BLISS will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
In July 1989 my daughter Bethan was born at 29 weeks, 11 weeks premature, weighing a hefty 3lbs (1.36kg).
Being born between 28 and 32 weeks Bethan was vulnerable to premature lung disease and unfortunately she experienced this illness and was critically ill for a 48 hour period which she fortunately survived.
As any parent of a premature child will know there are several hurdles to overcome during the weeks spent in SCBU and we also had a few more scares along the way, but thanks to the fantastic support from staff at the St David's Hospital in Cardiff (now unfortunately closed) Bethan survived, making a full recovery.
Bethan is now approaching her 18th Birthday and has recently received an offer to study at Swansea University and you can see the pictures of Bethan before (age 4 weeks) and after (aged 17) on this page
I have decided to raise some funds for BLISS by participating in a charity cycle ride from London to Paris in August and your support and sponsorship will be greatly appreciated.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
