We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Back in June The Blenheim kindly donated their railway pictures for a charity auction that had been on the walls of the B&B for decades. We raised a total of £406.50 for Alzheimer’s South West and since then I have wanted to organise a charity walk from Dawlish to Dawlish Warren and Live Stream it on Facebook.

My Auntie Kate suffered from this horrendous disease and passed away peacefully in Palm Court nursing home in the early hours of 4th August. It’s been important for me that my Uncle Dick joins us on this walk so have wanted to wait until we were both available.

After being invited to the Dawlish Dementia Adventure Open Day by the Mayor on the 12th, I thought the 13th would be a perfect day for our charity walk as it would have also have been my Dads’ birthday.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
