About the Lt. Dougie Dalzell MC Memorial Trust
Thank you very much for your donation on the occasion of the 2017 DDMT Carol Service.
The Lt Dougie Dalzell MC Memorial Trust was established to support soldiers and their families, in the name of Dougie, after his death following an IED explosion in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
Paramount inDougie's mind was the care of those injured as a result of war and the Trust exists to fulfil this aspiration. The transformation a well targeted donation can make is enormous:
“It was a life changing journey it has given me clarity and
direction, and I thank David and the trust from the bottom of my heart with out you guys it wouldn't be possible.” (sic)From a veteran who had been medically discharged with PTSD, now with a job and house and happily married.
"Sincerest thanks to the Dougie Dalzell Memorial Trust for sponsoring a truly exceptional event ... to deliver extraordinary physical and psychological benefits culminating in one of our key objectives, social reintegration." Lt Col Tristan Crew - Officer in Charge "Battle Back Golf", Defence Rehabilitation Centre, Headley Court.
We are smaller than most military charities but we feel that this complements a wider support network due to the way we operate. The Trust is comprised of 11 trustees, and 9 Sub-committee members, all of whom had their own individual and memorable relationships with Dougie. The Trust's small, unique structure of family and friends lends the DDMT a singularly personal approach to its fundraising and fund administration. We are proud that this gives us the opportunity to do much more than simply hand over a cheque.
It is a tribute to his memory that you might consider giving this initiative your support and we thank you enormously. We do hope you will give the Trust your backing; as a charity that is a making a real difference to those who need it and your support will help us do even more.
