Story
Yes i know you all think I'm crazy cycling inclines and 600km on the other side of the world but please let me tell you why
Growing up I had a hero like every child someone i admired and adored that hero was my grandfather Brian Evans, unfortunately I lost my hero to cancer and saw how it can crush families and turn people's life's upside down including my own. A lot of time has passed but I still miss him dearly to this day
I was very lucky soon after my grandfather passed another person I looked upto and held in the highest regard my friend Robbie Taylor came into my life and like gramps was very fun, wise and knowledgeable. They where both very similar special people especially in the way they effected my life. Once again unfortunately cancer took rob away from us.
During robs fight with illness which he fought valiantly and always with a smile on his face he attended Velindre cancer hospital. The hospital and its staff contributed to prolonging robs life and allowing myself and his family a short period longer to enjoy his great spirit. Whilst I was there it was always in the back of my mind that the nurses and staff at the hospital do this every day prolong lives, cure people and help cancer sufferers and their families....they are just like gramps and rob they are heroes!!
Velindre cancer hospital and its staff can't survive and move cancer treatment forward without donations so I decided to get off my backside and cycle 600km on the other side of the world and if it makes a family get longer with or not lose a loved one then no matter how small the difference I intend to make it!
