Further UPDATE!!!!

The Football2Amsterdam ride has been postponed again due to uncertainy around travel. 

The ride will be happening in June 2022, fingers crossed.

All sponsorship money donated still applies and I'm hoping to make more. Watch out for raffles!!!

UPDATE!!!!

So on the 3rd September 2021 I'll be setting off on my 2013 Boardman Sport road bike to cover 150 miles over 2 days in the Prostate Cancer UK Football to Amsterdam event. 

When I first started this back in 2019 I had never ridden a road bike however I can't get away with that anymore. Over the last year I have ridden over 976 miles (thats what Strava says, but there have been a few I haven't done on Strava), total number of rides on Strava is 53 and a total of over 57 hours. I can hardly say I'm a beginner but I'm certainly still a novice.

The reason I'm doing this is because  one man will die of prostate cancer every 45 minutes. During the course of a football match your Dad, brother, uncle, son or Grandad won't see the final score. Lets see what we can do to change that and fight this curable cancer.

Prostate Cancer UK don't receive any government funding and rely on events such as this to support the good work they are doing. As you can imagine this was hampered during the pandemic, as with lots of other charities. I'm hoping to raise as much as possible to help them get back into a position they were previously but I can only do that with everyone's help. 

I've had some great support so far from family, friends, colleagues and strangers and I can't thank you enough. I'd also like to thank my wife and kids as well who have put up with me going on long rides for training and is currently enduring my winter training in the utility room.

I'm going to continue my fund raising to see where I can get but keep an eye out for raffles and football cards where you can support Prostate Cancer and maybe win something nice as well.
