On April 26th 2010 i lost my grandad 'BOB' to lung cancer, it wasn't the best of days as it was also my mums birthday.

From an early point we realised 'BOB' would be spending most of his time in Saint Francis Hospice, a hospice I had only read about in the local Romford Recorder and from friends who also had similar experiences there.

When we had the dreadful news that 'BOB' didn't have long of his life left at first he said they he wanted to spend that last remaining time of his life at home, this was until he saw the dedicated care given by all the staff at the hospice and decided this was the place he would like to spend his last day with all the nurses running around after him.

I had only visited the hospice once and was suprised how caring the staff was and knew he was in great hands.

At that point I wanted to do something to help the self funded hospice and being a hobby runner no better way in doing the 2011 London Marathon.
