Story

I am taking part in the London to Brighton bike ride this year in loving memory of my brother Ben who died aged 38. Ben was sweet and caring, he will be remembered for his kindness and empathy for others, he loved his family and his last years were filled with a great love for my son Reuben and of course Country music.

Ben struggled most of his life with his mental health, he fought with strength but life became unbearable for him. He sought help and as a family we always fought to help him and get him the help he needed but heartbreakingly this wasn't enough.

I want to raise money for The Maytree Suicide Respite Centre who support people in suicidal crisis in a non-medical environment. It is the only place of its kind in the UK and fills a gap in services, between the medical support of the NHS and the helplines and drop-in centres of the voluntary sector. They offer a free 4-night/5-day stay, and the opportunity to be befriended and heard in complete confidence, without judgement and with compassion and warmth.

Maytree is a charity, entirely funded by donations. There is no charge to guests or agencies making referrals. Even the smallest donation makes a difference, especially when Gift Aided (whereby we can reclaim 25% of your donation back from HMRC at no extra cost to you, the donor). http://www.maytree.org.uk

Thank you for taking the time to read this, any sponsorship would be amazing and would mean so much to my family and especially those who are in need of support.
