I wanted to take steps (quite literally!)towards building an awareness of this charity's work and of the incredible presence, creativity and readiness of children who, given the chance, will quite naturally make friends with each other, anywhere in the world.

Walking18km each day in the blazing heat of the Jordanian desert and sleeping under the night stars will be quite a change from my cocooned centrally heated little winter burrow and I shall need spurring on by your generosity to support this charitiy's farsighted projects.

'Children of Peace' offers a fresh approach to conflict resolution in the middle east. Not taking sides, it's efforts are dedicated to building trust, friendship and reconciliation between Palestinian and Israeli children and their communities. 

In the words of one young friend of mine; 'Equality for all, no more fools, if you wanna make things right, give us the tools.'  

91% of funds raised go into arts, education, health and sports programmes; so future generations may have a chance to live and work in peace side by side.
