We fund sight loss research & support to ensure people can lead a fulfilling life

Story

My name is Diane and I am a blind Grandmother. I have recently taken up running and will be participating in my first marathon with my guide Andy Barton. Andy is a volunteer guide runner, we run side by side holding a tether with Andy giving verbal instruction on directions, surface change, obstacles ect…  Whilst this is challenging for myself as a blind runner, it is also a huge challenge for Andy to be running the marathon himself whilst having to be my guide.

I have raced in a few 10k's and a half marathon but the London Marathon 2019 will be my biggest challenge yet.

I am fundraising for the RP Fighting Blindness charity as I have Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP). This is a group of degenerative retinal conditions that lead to blindness. This charity funds vital research projects into the prevention and possible cure for RP. The charity also provides much needed information and support to people living with sight loss.

Thank you for your donations to this wonderful charity, it is very much appreciated.
