Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

After losing our son Oliver nearly 3 years ago we have raised over £26,000 for HistioUK. This is way more than our initial target and we are grateful for every penny that has been donated. The HR Trust is dedicated to promoting and funding scientific research into uncovering not only the causes of the histiocytosis diseases, Langerhans' Cell Histiocytosis and Haemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis, but also ensuring early diagnosis, effective treatment and a cure.

What is the Rat Race? Quite simply the World’s Biggest Assault Course and is being held in Burghley Park, Stamford. It will be 20 miles with 200 Obstacles to manouvre. I have taken part in this gruelling event the last two years and has been my only sponsored event I continue to do.It promises to be bigger and better than last year so I hope Oliver will be by my side once again to help me through it! You may be thinking it will be easier the third time round but I have actually been suffering with some knee and ankle issues so not been able to train as much as planned so will probably be a bigger challenge this year.

The real driver behind all of this is to hopefully help funding enough research into the horrible desease that took my son away from me at the tender age of 2. Oliver was a true boy and loved playing in mud and getting messy. We have had such a tough time since June 2012 when we he became a little star in the sky. If we can help find a cure which saves at least one other family going through the heartache we have gone through it will be worth ever bit of physical pain. One of our main drivers was Toby, Oliver's brother who was born just 6 days before Oliver passed away, he was our reason to carry on and get up in the morning. We were also very blessed to have an amazing group of friends and family who supported at the time and who continue to do so in any way they can. I know people might flippantly say 'they will do anything for you' but in my case I know that is true of each and everyone of them as they have done it!!

So please dig deep and donate whatever you can to this charity.
