Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Following the invite from Bryn HUGHES, twelve Dorset Police Officers will be taking part in the Run To Remember Challenge. The event requires each Officer to run 2 miles per day (or the equivalent) totalling 250 miles between Sunday 1 December 2013 and Friday 4 April 2014. The team consists of runners from Bournemouth, Ferndown and Weymouth stations.

This challenge is in support of Bryn HUGHES, Father of Nicola HUGHES, who lost her life in a gun and grenade attack in Manchester in 2012. Bryn is taking part in the North Pole Marathon (www.npmarathon.com) raising money for three charities:
Victim Support
Care of Police Survivors (COPS)
North West Police Benevolent Fund.

Each runner has committed to raising £100 but clearly hopeful to raise much more to support these well deserving charities that any of our families may need support from in the future.

About the charity

Our aim is to provide opportunities for the future to children who have lost a close family member through violent crimes. We look at providing grants or services to aid learning and employment prospects.
