Dot was first diagnosed with incurable breast cancer in May 2009. Thanks to the wonderful treatments and care by Dr. Makris and his team of MacMillan nurses, Dot was able to carry on a near-normal life for a further 9 years until, finally, succumbing to the disease on the 8th May, 2018.

It was her request to support a charity which is engaged in breast cancer cure research.
