Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page fundraising for Make A Wish Foundation. 

The work of the Foundation and its volunteers, creating fun memories for those who do not have the same chance at a long life, is inspirational and will help motivate me to complete 3,300 km in 30 days.  You can follow my ride, starting 5th Nov, on Instagram 'dougs_nz_bike_ride'.

Make A Wish creates a journey through the planning, anticipation, enabling the wish itself and then the memories that brighten the lives of the child making the wish as well as their families.

About the charity

Make-A-Wish New Zealand grants the wishes of children (3 -17 years) with life-threatening medical conditions. All medically eligible children can be granted their wish. The reality of creating a world of magic and making a wish come true means Make-A-Wish can bring a smile to the face of a child who, due to their illness, may be missing out on everyday school, sports, or entertainment activities. Wishes could be: To meet a favourite sports star or celebrity To be a fireman, zookeeper, or a princess for a day To have a playhouse, bike, puppy, or ride in a really fast car! To go to a concert, theme park, or on a shopping spree Make-A-Wish New Zealand is an affiliate of Make-A-Wish International.
