Story
In loving memory of my beautiful Mum.
Over a decade ago now, my Mum was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, the most common type of bone marrow cancer. She sadly passed away in December 2019 and was incredibly brave throughout her cancer battle and was a true fighter until the end. Her loss leaves a big hole in our extended family as well as the community in Cyprus but will forever be an integral part. My mum was the most important person in my life and along with many others, will always fondly look back on her wonderful smile, generous heart, infectious enthusiasm and determination to live the best quality life possible even during the hardest times. She was truly the dearest, kindest and sweetest woman and was the centre of my world. For those who knew her, as long as we remember the good times, the fun times and the happiest times we shared with her, she will always be with us.
On September 19th I will be running a full marathon through Glasgow and its surrounding areas (as part of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival Virtual Challenge) to raise money for Myeloma UK, an amazing charity that is the only organisation in the UK to focus entirely on myeloma. They ensure patients get the right treatment at the right time and continually strive to improve the standards of treatment and care through research, education and raising awareness. They receive no Government funding so any support is appreciated hugely.
Thanks everyone for reading and I hope you will consider donating to a cause thats very special to me.
Douglas
