Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So, I'm approaching the Big 40 and my bucket list is looking a little neglected.  Now I've never been a sporty person, I was the girl who used to hide in the changing rooms during PE lessons at school! But over the last few years I have started to enjoy working out, running and even taking part in a few 10km races. So the half marathon was the obvious "nextstep" challenge! It's not going to be pretty and it's not going to be fast but I am determined that I will do this for 3 important reasons:

1. To support MY Hospitals Charity and raise money for their cause.  I work for Mid-Yorkshire Hospitals as an Obstetrician and had my daughter Daisy there.  This Trust plays a massive part in my family life and I want to do something extra to support it.

2. To set an example to my 2 daughters, Darcy and Daisy. I want them to grow up with a healthy attitude to life and see that if you want something, you are determined and you work hard that you can achieve anything. They will be there at the finish line cheering me on!

3. This particular race, The Great North Run, will be very special for me because I spent many a summer  in Whitley Bay staying with my grandparents when I was younger. Sadly my grandad  died a few years ago but I want to "do this one for him" and to make my grandma and all my family proud.
