Story
In my role as a medical doctor, I have travelled inside Syria during the current conflict and worked in some of the field hospitals including Aleppo Medical Council. I witnessed first hand the atrocities and suffering Syrian refugees are trying to escape from.
In December 2013, my friend Alan Henning; a Salford taxi driver who travelled with my family and I to Syria to provide emergency relief and deliver ambulances was abducted and killed.
Alan loved the children of Syria. Some of the funds raised here will support a school that the friends of Alan Henning set up in Turkey for 525 Syrian children and orphans. The school provides hope and encouragement for children fleeing thier war torn homes and is helping to build a brighter future. It is what Alan would have wanted.
The rest of the money raised will help Syrian refugees inside Syria through various projects that promote sustainability. My family and I have been working with and fundraising for Syrian refugees for over 4 years now and I hope you will continue to support our work in the years to come. We are in this for the long run as long as the war continues and families need our help.
