Story

Hi all! My name is Jake Doran (aka Dora[n] The Explorer) and on the 28th of October I will running the Dublin Marathon for The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation, alongside my dad John and my sister's fiancé Adam. Any help, be that sponsorship or simply spreading the word, would be greatly appreciated. Please read on for more information about the event and the impact your support can have.

The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation is a local Exeter based charity that organises and funds weddings for terminally ill people. They believe that few things in life can be more important or rewarding, than giving such a person a chance to have their dream wedding day, with all the excitement, love and happiness that brings. And I agree.

Having only started running with the Couch to 5k before Christmas, I'm still a beginner running and this will be my first marathon. I recently completed the Simply Health Bristol 10k and have further events planned in the run up to the marathon.

If you would like to keep up to date with my training or see related photos/posts you can do so over on my blog: www.dorantheexplorer.com

Thank you for your interest and support,

About the charity

The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation is a new organisation launched in 2012 with a single purpose- organising and funding weddings for terminally ill people. There are many men and women in the UK living with life limiting conditions or terminal illnesses who long to marry their special partner in life. We, at The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation believe that few things in life can be more important or rewarding, than giving such a person a chance to have their dream wedding day, with all the excitement, love and happiness that brings. As we are fully aware that time can be precious, we are able to organise the arrangements against the clock where required. For many families, the memory of a happy wedding day can be a cherished moment. Surrounded by family and friends, enjoying each other’s company and being full of joy and laughter; a wedding day is an occasion where everyone can look back and remember that special event, and smile.
