Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In July 2014 I'll be hopping on my bike and travelling 180 miles from Fort William to Aberdeen over 4 days.

Now, 180 miles by road isn't a huge undertaking so we (myself and buddy Ewan Wilkinson) have decided to head straight across the country over some big old hills (mountains, actually). This should make it quite a challenge.

Have you done anything like this before?

Nope! I'm on my bike quite regularly for meetings with work but I've never (at the time of writing this) cycled more than 25 miles in one go in my life, and never been mountain biking in the hills.

Nice! 60 miles a day then?

That's the plan. There are some big hills in that part of the world too so it's probably the equivalent of riding 100 miles a day on flat ground (we like to think it is anyway).

Why the WSBPS?

I've worked with the team at Ashville Lodge for a number of years now and last year I became a Director on their board. Charities like this don't have the budget to compete with the big boys and they really do some incredible work so I felt compelled to give a little back.

2014 is their Silver Anniversary – the WSBPS are celebrating 25 years of service so it's a great time to help out and raise their profile and help out.

Not heading back up Mont Blanc then Ed?

Not for a while I think! I've had a couple of cracks at that wonderful mountain and will return one day but I fancied something new and different. Also, I'm a busy-bee like everyone else so a week or two away at the moment wasn't viable.

So... thanks for looking and hope you can donate a little to the cause! Any amount, small or large, will be massively appreciated.

Follow me on Twitter (@edwardlamb) or visit edwardlamb.com for updates through training and the event itself. We'll be travelling up on Friday 25th July and setting off the following morning.
