Story
Team Elbrus is a group of property professionals who, in August, seek to be the first property team to climb Mount Elbrus - the highest mountain in Europe. The team comprises Jon Beswick of Adventure In Architecture°, Russell Brooks of RLB, Charlie Oliver of JLL and Paul Arthur of Paragon BC.
Mount Elbrus is the highest mountain in Russia and in Europe, and the tenth most prominent peak in the world. A dormant volcano, Elbrus is in the Caucasus Mountains in Southern Russia, near the border with Georgia and the west summit stands at 5,642 metres (18,510 ft). We will be attempting to summit the Mountain via the lesser climbed North face route which should take between 10-13 days.
"We want to make expeditions accessible to the inexperienced by giving our clients a dream and help them to achieve it. If it doesn't challenge us, it won't change us."
- Jon Beswick.
In addition to undertaking the challenge itself, Team Elbrus also wanted to use the event to raise money for Landaid. LandAid is the property industry charity, working to end youth homelessness in the UK. They bring the property industry together to support charities delivering life-changing services for young people who have experienced homelessness, or who are at risk of homelessness in the future. They achieve this this by awarding grants to exceptional small-medium sized charities working with young people who are at risk or are currently homeless; brokering free property expertise for their charity partners and raising awareness of the 80,000 young people currently without a place to call home in the UK.
