Story
Im going to be running the Bath Half Marathon on behalf of BaNES Carers Centre!
It's my first half marathon and something people have been challenging me to do! I've always said I would and after injury last year I was reluctant to get back into training but here I am, running five times a week to get in the miles. Sounds exhausting? Yep! But, I'm doing it to stand in solidarity for carers who face isolation and exhaustion on a daily basis.
Since moving to Bath, I've realised how important it is to play your part in the city. Running this race isn't just a personal goal but a way to actively participate in supporting the local community. Please support me, and the charity, by donating any amount you can. They do such incredible work, lifting burdens. If you cant donate yourself, please share this link around to help us!
------------BaNES Carers Centre is a small charity that focuses on helping voluntary carers; people who help provide care for someone else. Carers time is often solely spent on the person for whom they care and that can cause feelings of isolation and exhaustion. Their vision is a community where carers of today and tomorrow are fully recognised, valued and supported and have what they need to stay well, in control and feel connected.Their charity provides a free support line for advice, café' sessions and free break activities, and courses to help them better understand their position as a carer. The money raised through the Bath Half Marathon will help enable the charity to continue to providing the support services carers need to be able to do what they do.
