Story
Ella Bury's Memorial Fund has donated 14 defibrillators to sports centres and community centres in and around Warwickshire and the West Midlands. This year, one of these defibrillators saved the life of a gentleman in Nuneaton.
The next campaign, headed up by the very passionate Sophie Gulliver, is to ensure Coventry schools have this much needed life saving equipment. After writing to 120 schools only eight indicated they already have a defibrillator, whilst five expressed a wish to have one installed. Every defibrillator placement costs £1200, including equipment and first aid training. Funds have been secured for one piece of equipment, but we still need to raise money for the rest. The charity ball on 7th December 2018, plus your donations through this page, will help ensure the safety of children, parents and the local community in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest.
Ella Bury was a fit and healthy 17 year old when she passed away on the morning of 14th July 2014 from a sudden cardiac arrest. Ella had no pre-existing medical conditions and no cause was ever identified for her death. These events are very much in her memory and to keep her legacy alive.
