Story
My Grandfather was based in Moshi during his National Service and thoroughly enjoyed his experience, always speaking highly of the people, culture and lifestyle he experienced during his time in Tanzania. Eventually he had to come back due to a family business waiting for him but always spoke highly of his experience when in Tanzania. Unfortunately in May 2016 he passed away partly down to cancer.
In September 2017, I have signed up to climb to the summit of Kilimanjaro which stands 4,900 metres high from the base. The Marangu Route will take 6 days, four days to reach the summit and a final two days to reach the base. I will be completing it with around 10 strangers among with numerous amount of highly trained staff who will all aid me in completing this challenging expedition.
With many strenuous hours spent training, I am determined to complete this challenge in memory of my grandfather, also known as Bert. Any help to this amazing charity would be welcomed, as after all it could help save someones life in hopefully near future.
