Story
2018 is the year of all new endeavours for me. After returning from life abroad, to mark my 30th year I decided to challenge myself to something I never thought I would do....swim the English Channel!
I have loved swimming since I was a young child. Ever since my dad told me about Wendy Trehiou, who swam for 39 hours to France and back (a 42-mile round trip!), I have always wanted to follow in her footsteps. I will be attempting this mammoth challenge as part of a relay and will be joined by my friends Robbie and Ryan.
I have been training hard with the incredible help of the Red Top Swim team, and with the support of all my lovely family and friends. I have been training in various locations from swimming pools in London to the Adriatic Sea in Croatia, working on my stroke and long distance swimming.
I have decided to raise money for TAMBA and their Helping Hands Project. Helping Hands provides short term practical support in the home to families with twins, triplets or more that are in severe need or crisis. Helping Hands, in association with Norland College, provides Norland Nannies on a voluntary basis to support these families at their lowest point.
More information about the project can be found at https://www.tamba.org.uk/fundraising/helping-hands-appeal
Please support me in this huge challenge by donating to this fabulous cause. I will be aiming to complete the swim between 18th-24th August which is only a short way away, and I hope to raise as much as I can to help them. Thank you so much!
