I'm hoping to raise money for Together for Short Lives while competing in Miss Teen Great Britain. 

Together for Short Lives is a fantastic charity that supports children, and their families, who have life-shortening or life-threatening illnesses. It helps parents to cope with the fact their children will likely die before them and provides care. They aid families to make the most of the time they have together. 

In the process of raising money for this charity, I hope to show girls my age that there is more to them than what they look like. I aim to show that not only are girls who have struggled with mental health able to go on, but also that what's in people's hearts is so much more important than what they look like. 

I've struggled with depression and anxiety for a lot of my teenage life. Approximately 20% of teens will struggle with depression and it can leaving girls with low self-esteem. Even after depression girls often don't know their own self-worth. By competing in Miss Teen Great Britain I hope to show girls world-wide that not only is it possible to recover from mental health problems but they can also go on to do great things.

I also aim to educate our nation on the challenges that adolescents face.

And break the barriers that mental health creates
