We support London's homeless to help find lasting employment

Story

I've always been into running and have wanted to run the marathon for a long time. I'm very excited and a little terrified that on 23rd April 2023 this will become a reality! I'm pleased to say I will be supporting The House of St Barnabas while doing so.

The House of St Barnabas is a social enterprise and charity that works to support people affected by homelessness back into long-term employment. Their vision is of a future where lasting good work, a secure home and a supportive network are a reality for those affected by homelessness.

Underpinned by their vibrant members’ club in Soho, the Employment Academy provides on site employment and skills training for people who have experienced homelessness. This is followed by 12 months of progression support to enable sustained change and impact including mentoring, housing support and in-work progression support.

Working on The Strand in London, I witness on a regular basis the large amount of homeless individuals, and it really hits home how hard it must be. A safe home and a stable job is something many of us may take for granted and this charity do a fantastic job working with those affected by homelessness to help them attain both these things.

This 26.2 mile challenge will be a very big achievement for me and I hope I will be able to make this charity proud. Thank you SO much for any donation you can give, it means a lot to both me and THOSB.

Big hugs,

Emma x
