Story
Hi Everyone!
My name is Emma Cook and I'm 17 years old.
I have decided to take on the challenge of doing a skydive to raise money for the Isabel Hospice, I'm going to do the jump in memory of my wonderful Dad. 'Steve Cook'
You may or may not be aware that in September 2008 he was diagnosed with having a cancerous brain tumour. He was incredibly brave, and the way he fought through the illness was such an inspiration. He put on a brave face and battled through a series of radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Just before Christmas 2009 my dad went into the Isabel Hospice, and that's where he spent his last 13 days. The Isabel Hospice cared for my dad and supported my mum, sister and I through this terrible time.
On January 2nd 2010 my dad passed away at the age of just 51.
Steve Cook was a very special man, in-fact he was one in a million. Not only was he my dad, he was also my best friend.
I know that his memory will live on in many peoples hearts forever.
I'm going to do this skydive to make my dad proud and also to raise as much money as I can to support the Isabel Hospice. They do such an amazing job at providing Home Care, Day Care, In-Patient Care and Family Support. All the services are provided free of charge as well.
On July 16th I will be doing a Tandem Skydive. Jumping and falling from an airplane at 13,000 feet. Scary huh?
I'm aiming to raise as much money as possible! I can't stress enough that every penny helps. Whether you can spare £1 or £10, I will be incredibly grateful!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. Thank you so much!
