Story
At the end of last year my lovely friends Ben and Sarah Pullen lost their wonderful, son Silas to a brain tumour. Silas was a happy, healthy 10-year-old boy until he was diagnosed with a high-grade glioma in August 2012.His brain tumour was so aggressive that surgery and extensive chemotherapy could not contain its growth and Silas lost the battle against the tumour that he had named BOB, just after Christmas 2013. He was 11 years and 9 months old.
My swim over just under a mile is across the Swale which has some of the fastest tidal currents around the English coast and will end at Harty Ferry where Silas and his family made this film “Always look on the Splodge side” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSCsUk0vk7Q&index=1&list=PLUU0EjnRH13ID2lym6CTPG6tCy81tbZg4
Sarah and Ben have set up a fund in his name with the Brain Tumour Charity to support research into the treatment and cure of childhood brain tumours.
