We are moving further, faster to help everyone affected by a brain tumour

Story

First thing you should know....I hate running, I am much happier in the water and thanks to those of you who supported my swim last summer!! But you can't always do the things you like and life certainly doesn't play fair, so I am running 10k in London on the 12th July....not backwards though as was suggested by one person! (yes it was Ben).

Not long ago my lovely friends Ben and Sarah lost their wonderful, son Silas to a brain tumour. Silas was a happy, healthy 10-year-old boy until he was diagnosed with a high-grade glioma in August 2012.His brain tumour was so aggressive that surgery and extensive chemotherapy could not contain its growth and Silas lost the battle against the tumour that he had named BOB,  just after Christmas 2013. He was 11 years and 9 months old.

Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and young people and yet very little, less than 2% of the +£500 million spent on cancer research, goes on brain tumour study and developing new drugs in this area?!! I am running to raise money for vital research and to to try and raise the profile of this woefully underfunded killer.

If you know me then you will know I like swimming a lot more than I like running, so please dig deep.....I will be!
