Story

Thank you so much for your support of ERSO's 10 Cellos so far. Unfortunetly, following the Government's latest guidance on the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to cancel our 10 Cellos gig on Wednesday 15 April. We very much hope to be able to plan a new date later in the year.

Founded in 1931 by Ernest Read, the Ernest Read Symphony Orchestra (ERSO) is one of London’s leading amateur orchestras with a special and long-standing tradition of providing musical development opportunities for emerging professional musicians and children. Each year we reach 70-100 young musicians in Camden through our children’s concerts and we also provide unrivalled opportunities for the best up-and-coming orchestral leaders, soloists, composers and conductors through the ERSO Talent Programme.

On 28 February 2021, we will be performing a 90th Birthday Gala concert at the prestigious Duke’s Hall at the Royal Academy of Music. The concert will showcase the orchestra’s illustrious history, feature young singers and orchestral musicians from Camden and premiere two new compositions.

Donations will help raise the funds needed to support this flagship anniversary children’s concert. Any donation, of any size, would mean a lot to the ERSO Cellos, the orchestra and ultimately the young musicians that your donations will enable us to create the musical experiences for.
