My name is Ethan I am 14 years old and I am suffering from a severe life threatening immune disease. My immune system which should be protecting me is attacking me due to this I have problems with my stomach, lungs, pancreas ,liver and spleen . My only hope is a bone marrow transplant to destroy my immune system and replace it with a new one . This will happen at a special bubble unit in Newcastle where I will be kept in isolation until my immune system rebuilds and starts protecting me again. There are only 2 bubble units in the UK who offer the level of care I need. The bubble foundation raises funds to offer better and improved medication to enable children to proceed safely through the transplant, and to go on to lead normal lives.
Through the great work the foundation do, over the last 10 years the survival rate has increased from 50 to 80%.
