Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We're once again entering the Bluebell Wood Soapbox Derby in memory of my Son Ethan who sadly passed away in 2014 due to a congenital heart defect aged just 6 days.
We were helped through this difficult time by the amazing Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice, who cared for us and Ethan during his short time and still support us and other families like us afterwards
The hospice supports children and young people with a shortened life expectancy. It costs over £4million each year to run the hospice and under 10% of this is Government funding so every penny really does count.
The soapbox race will take place at Clifton Park, Rotherham on Saturday 30th September and has teams constructing their own soapbox and racing down the 500m course for the best time. I'll be joined in the soapbox by one of my oldest friends Chris who's been a fantastic support and also our pit crew Steve and Dave helping us to finish the course in one piece
Last year we finished 20th out of 40 teams and raised a fantastic £1040. We would love to beat both our time and fundraising amount this year so please come down on the day and cheer us on, and if you can, please sponsor us to help raise money for this worthwhile cause!
