Take your marks.... Swimathon is back in 2017 for the 30th year running! This is your lane. Your challenge. Your chance to make lives better by raising money for Marie Curie this year, helping people living with any terminal illness, and their families.
As the world’s biggest fundraising swimming event, you can jump in the pool and make a difference at over 600 pools!
Swimathon’s 30th anniversary will include many celebrations online and around the pool on event weekend.
You can choose to take on 1.5k, 2,5k or 5k or, with our SimplySwim challenge, do your own distance in your own time. You could even form a relay team to tackle the 1.5k and 5k distances with your water-loving friends.
Whatever you do, the money you raise will help people living with any terminal illness, and their families.
A great challenge for novice swimmers, or those that prefer to push their speed on shorter distances. If you fancy working your way up to 60 lengths of a 25m pool, whilst raising some serious fundraising cash, then this is for you.
If you’re looking to go to great lengths to get sponsored, then 100 of a 25m pool is for you. The perfect challenge for the intermediate swimmer who trains regularly. A way to push your boundaries and give yourself a goal to commit to training for. So, jump in the pool and make some waves for a good cause. So jump in the pool and make some proper fundraising waves.
This is the ultimate Swimathon challenge, to complete the 5k distance takes dedication, commitment and a good training programme. Your efforts will be rewarded though; be sure that you’ll receive high numbers of sponsorship because 200 lengths of a 25m pool will leave everyone, including you, breathless.
Whether it’s one of our set distances or a number of lengths somewhere between, SimplySwim lets you choose the distance, the time and the venue that suits you best to get involved with Swimathon and raise money. You’ll have from Monday 27th march to Sunday 9th April to complete your challenge.
Take on 60 lengths of a 25m pool in a relay with your friends, your family or your colleagues. Split it as you like, shorter distances for the novice or longer for the kids. However you prefer, make up your perfect team of 2 to 5 swimmers, join forces in the pool and emerge as a team raising the fundraising bar to a whole new level.
Round up your water-loving friends and take on 200 lengths of a 25m pool together. Make up a team of 2 to 5 swimmers to tackle the ultimate Swimathon distance. Split it evenly between you or break down the distances according to your abilities and get everyone involved! As a team, you’ll reach your sponsorship goal and the glory.
Form your own SimplySwim squad, choose your most suitable time, distance and venue to take on your challenge between Monday 27th March to Sunday 9th April and raise that sponsorship cash. As with the rest of the team challenges, you’ll be able to round up a team of 2-5 swimmers. Go on, start recruiting!
