Story

Hello, my name is Alfie and I am 10 years old and a big Everton fan.

I lost my dad on May 6, 2017. He had a mental health illness and sadly took his own life.
This has made my life tough, but I have realised that other people have it worse which is why I turned to Everton – I want to be able to help people in our city who are having a bad time. I wrote a letter to the Club asking if we could work together to help others.

Since losing my dad, I have realised that there isn’t much help or support for children in the same situation as me. Everton in the Community are currently fundraising to build a mental health hub next to Goodison Park called The People’s Place. They will be including a children’s section in it which I think is a boss idea and
so I want to fundraise to raise as much money as possible to go towards the children’s part of the hub. I think this will be very important and will help many children who are in a situation like mine and have been affected by mental health.

Thank you for reading.

Alfie
