We support the best young sports stars to help them succeed internationally

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Background:
I have been totally inspired by the Olympic Games in London as it has truly captured the imagination of the nation and reignited many peoples' interest in sport. Like many others I will probably not be competing at the next Commonwealth or Olympic Games but whereas my chance has most likely passed, there are so many young athletes who have massive potential to succeed. What I can do in the meantime is to put all my efforts into funding aspiring Scottish athletes and I aim to achieve this by expending some of my own energy to support Scottish Sports Aid.

The Challenge:
I will endeavour to complete physical sporting activity every day (approximately 700 days) between the end of the London 2012 (Monday 13th August) and the beginning of Glasgow 2014 (Wednesday 23rd July).

The Rules:
1) A week of physical sporting activity will consist of 5 sessions of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity (minimum 30 minutes per session (jogging/running, swimming, cycling, football, singles tennis)), 1 session of moderate-intensity aerobic activity (minimum 1 hour per session (brisk walking, doubles tennis, golf)), and 1 session of muscle-strengthening activity (minimum 30 minutes per session). (NB. The types of activity are defined on the NHS Live Well website).
2) If I am genuinely ill or injured then I will donate £1 into the fund for each day missed which will act as an incentive to get back to fitness as soon as is sensible. (NB. I realise I could just sit on the couch and pay £700 to my charity but I feel that I can raise even more than that through my training).

The Process:
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
