Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Six months ago I agreed to join friends on the 10th running of the Joberg2c endurance mountain biking event, riding 900km in 9 days. The reason then was that three of us are turning 50 this year. Just before Christmas a friend of mine, Richard Garrett, died at the age of 51 after a long and courageous battle with cancer which both put things in perspective and gave me a better reason for riding the event.
Richard fundraised for, and became a friend of Stephanie Moore, who had set up the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK in the name of her husband who also died at the age of 51.
My fundraising effort will be part of Challenge 51 (#Challenge51) which is being run by Richard's wife, Emma, who is looking to have 51 fundraising challenges in 2019 aiming to raise £51,000. Any money raised will go to the Bobby Moore Fund and will also be counted towards the Challenge 51 total.
