Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am raising money for Meningitis Now to help them to continue the amazing work they do, raising awareness and supporting families like mine who have lost a loved one to this awful disease.

Evie (pictured) was my partners Granddaughter who tragically passed away, less than 24 hours after her diagnosis of Meningococcal B on 27th March 2019. She was just 4 years old. This is the link to the full story https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/she-always-happy-familys-heartache-16062085

I have secured a place in the 2020 London Marathon (eek)! via Meningitis Now and every penny raised will go to them to help them continue the work that they do. It's a massive challenge for me (having not ran since high school days until recently) but I am committed and determined to do it for Evie. I would appreciate it so much if you are able to donate any amount of money at all to this amazing cause.

Please be aware - if your child was born before September 2015, they will NOT be covered against Meningococcal B unless you have paid privately for the vaccination. It's only from September 2015 that this vaccination was made available to babies as part of the NHS vaccination programme. Sadly this came too late for Evie - she missed out on this vaccination by mere months.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
