Story

What am I doing?
Attempting to run 26 miles in Rotterdam, April 2014 (the original plan was to run Edinburgh last year but two long-lasting injuries at separate times in 2013 put a stop to that plan!).

Why am I doing it?
Bowel cancer is the second most common cause of all cancer deaths in the UK, and due to it's nature, it's probably one of the least talked about. I know three people who have faced the illness, two of them did not survive. Bowel Cancer UK works to raise crucial awareness, helping to eliminate the taboos, and helping to save people's lives by getting them to recognise the symptoms early enough.

Can I actually complete the marathon?!

Judging by my previous training attempts, no! It's been an emotional struggle during the past year and a half, each time I would get to a certain level with my training and then an injury would knock me out for at least 3 months, meaning each time I had to start all over again to build back up. But somehow, now, one-week away from the Rotterdam marathon, I'm still running :o) Injuries are threatening once again, but I'm at least looking good to start the race. Every penny (or euro!) you can give will really help me reach the finish line. So please, give what ever you can. Thank you :o)
