Hi There!

I'm travelling to Taiwan at the end of February to take part in a 17km race through the extremes of the Taiwan Jungle in a race they call 'Run Through the Jungle III'.

If trekking through the jungle wasn't enough then there's also two small mountains to climb. Oh, and I also forgot about the wild animals and snakes!.....

I'm raising funds for the Marine Society and Sea Cadets. The Sea Cadets  is an amazing charity that I'm extremely passionate about. They offer young people from the ages of 10 - 18 the opportunity to learn new skills and gain qualifications in a variety of skills such as sailing, power boating and rowing plus so much more. The children develop life skills that stay with them for life. Leadership, teamwork and confidence are all traits that they will develop and all of this is done in a safe yet fun environment.

I attribute my successes in adulthood to the Sea Cadets; my son Tiernan is now a Cadet and I hope that at whatever stage he leaves the sea cadets that he will do so having had the fun, challenges and experiences that I was able to enjoy.

I don't often mix my personal life with business and quiet my contribution to the two passions in my life; Rugby and the Sea Cadets to whom I offer hours of service as a volunteer for the benefit of young people. Therefore I'm reaching out to all of my connections whether they be through the Offshore Wind industry, Rugby, Sea Cadets, Fitness or my friends and family to help me raise money for the Sea Cadets.

Any funds I raise will be split, with 50% going to my local Sea Cadet Unit  Filey, 25% going to the local district of North and East Yorkshire,15% to Eastern Area of the Sea Cadets and 10% to the Sea Cadets HQ to be put towards the charity nationally. I should also mention that this event is entirely funded by myself with all travel, accommodation and entry costs covered meaning that every single penny will go to this good cause.

Thank you for any contribution you can make no matter how small. You will literally be changing the lives of young people by offering them adventure, fun, new experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.
