Story

This charity has managed to get a lot of women through the toughest and most challenging times of their lives. This could be years after they have been assualted or just a few weeks.  There are very few paid staff and volunteers that have gone through some of the hardest training schedules in order to be able to help those that are in distress or need a listening ear.

Sexual assault charities are very under funded due to the problems that they deal with for some it's still a Taboo subject.  Only 7% of convictions happen at the moment if a woman is to go to the police. That's not saying that the woman is not being believed it is just saying that allegations are messy and often hard to proof. So charities like this one are so badly needed.

This charity is very close to my heart. I have attended as a service user and I want to be able to help give something back. The emotional support that women receive is some times life saving and exactly what is needed.  The month of September the charity is looking to close it's doors as it has not got enough funding to stay open for the month.  This will have a detrimental effect on people that use the helpline, use the counselling services and the group's that they run. Not being able to support those that require help for a month is hard and even harder for those that need support for the very first time.  Please join me in helping support the organisation on staying open. Whether you have personal experience, know of family and friends who have gone through this or you just want to donate please do. A small amount can go a long way.  Help others as I have been supported.
