Dravet Syndrome UK is dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults living with Dravet Syndrome through medical research, education and awareness and appropriate support.

Story

Paddy had his first seizure at 17 weeks old, in the first couple years of his life he had countless hospital visits, status seizures lasting 40 mins, I stood and watched the crash team come and resuscitate him and stood at his bedside in ICU. There have been many occasions when I thought this was the time when I was going to lose him. Dravet Syndrome isn't just the seizures, Paddy also has severe global delays, autism, sensory processing disorder and behavioural problems.  Myself and Paddys big brother Rhys have decided to tackle Mount Snowdon to raise money for research into his condition. I've done Ben Nevis before but now have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia so this is going to be a mammoth task for me. One of the silver linings of having a child with special needs is them having siblings who've grown up with sensitivity and compassion and who want to help make the world a better place. Paddys little sister Amelie is only 7 and is going to join us for half of the walk with my husband Lee.
