As usual the Firemen are competing in various events throughout the year to raise funds for the fantastic charity When You Wish Upon A Star. First up David Cracknell was brilliant in the Manchester Marathon then Ian Mackintosh ran the London Marathon in a fantastic time of 3hrs 15mins.
Next up was Kev Downey in the Fan Dance, an SAS Test March in the Brecon Beacons over 15 tough miles with a 40lb weighted Bergen.
Steve Wood is his usual busy self and competing in the Castle Howard Half Ironman distance triathlon on the 24th July. The 35lb Bergen is back on the road again on 4th Sept when Kev competes in the Paras10 in Catterick, a 10 mile weighted TAB over the Paras course.   

The finale is the Mount Everest Ladder Challenge in Merseyway Shopping Precinct in Stockport, when the Firemen scale the ladder until they reach the height of Mount Everest.
