Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for Harrys Rainbow

So i am taking on my next challenge which is a ride from London to Amsterdam in May 2017.

As many of you may know following a tragic accident our amazing little boy Edward lost his life on the 17th April 2015 ages only 22 months old. Following his accident he was taken to The John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where he spent his time truly fighting. As a family we stayed by Edwards side right to the end however the brain damage Edward had sustained left him with little chance of survival and no chance of any quality of life had he survived. The only way to find out his outcome was to let him go it alone and so on the advice of an amazing team of doctors, we made the decision to turn off his his life support. On the 17th April 2015 his machines where turned off. Our amazing strong boy still tried to fight and continued to breath for some time after. We spent this time holding him in our arms untill his last breath and for some time after.

Edward left behind 2 brothers, his big brother Oliver (who at the time was 4) and his baby brother Thomas (who was only 11 weeks old). The loss of a sibling is of course a terrible thing to experience for a 4 year old boy and Oliver has faced many challenges in dealing with loosing his best friend. This is where Harrys Rainbow have stepped in, providing support to both Oliver and the whole family in a wide range of ways. Without Harrys Rainbow we truly could not have helped the boys in the way they need. The support and activities they have provided our boys has been truly amazing and my aim will now be to take on further challenges (mostly on the bike but also in other ways) to raise all I can for these amazing people and to thank you for the amazing help they give us.

Following my previous challenge from London to Paris we rasied over £5000 for Ronald Mcdonald house. I would love to see a similar amount for Harrys Rainbow. Please donate what ever you can. No amount is too small.
