Jasmine sadly suffers from a life-threatening condition called Spastic Cerebral Palsy – This affects her ability to walk and stand alone. Jasmine required an operation a couple of years ago which cost £31,000. The family were told one week before the planned operation day, that the NHS had to ‘pull’ the operation due to lack of funding. The family did a remarkable job in fundraising and reached their target.
Jasmine's operation was a success, it has helped change her life allowing her to start walking with her standing frame, she can now sit in the bath and she can participate with her school friends. However, for Jasmine to be able to walk and maintain her day-to-day strength, she requires physiotherapy which, the NHS allow her to have one physio session a month, she actually needs at least two hour and a half sessions per week, at a cost of £100 per session.
