Story

On Sunday 13th April, two special runners will aim complete the Virgin London Marathon 2014 in the hope of raising as most money as possible for Autism Concern. Both are marathon first-timers who will certainly achieve personal bests; as they are passionate about enabling children and young people with autism to learn, thrive and achieve their potential. Our Funkytowngrooves Team runners are currently aiming to do the charity proud by putting their heart and souls into training and raising money for people with autism.

Tony Calvert, ambitious runner and director of Funkytowngrooves, said: “I’m absolutely buzzing. I’ve been training so hard for months to be fit enough to run the marathon for Autism Concern. And what a day it will be, nothing beats being supported by your own family and staff along the route - they really been motivating myself and Matt to go the whole distance!”

Matt Murphy, Director of Funkytowngrooves, said: “Me and Tony are so proud of all the hard work that we’ve currently put into training and raising money for children with autism – this will be an amazing achievement for us both and everyone concerned with Autism! It will be fantastic to see so many people come
