FUTURAULA: The Project by Euroaula and Indian Futures continues...
Last year, Euroaula Tourism School decided to collaborate with the British NGO called Indian Futures and Futuraula was born. All thanks to a committee composed by teachers, students and admin staff. And, the committee is coming strong for another year.
As for Indian Futures, it raises funds in the United Kingdom for educational projects in South India. And that is the aim of Futuraula too. This year all the funds will go towards the provision of scholarships for female students in Vedanthangal so that they can access higher education. You might ask why only female students?
To be able to understand that, you should get to know Vedanthangal. This town is located in the south of India and known mostly for a bird reserve. It is home for 14,000 people. They live in a precarious situation (many of them lack running water and often suffer power cuts). In spite of that, students try to get good grades at school so they can get to university or get a job in the future that allow them to improve their living conditions. But for most of the girls there, it is way more difficult to continue their studies and from an early age they are taught to take care of household chores and their families. And through this Scolarships, we want them to have what's their right.
Studying is a reality for us but a dream for them. Let's all do our best to fulfill their dreams.
