Story

ROYAL MANCHESTER CHILDREN'S  HOSPITAL CHARITY

iMRI SCANNER APPEAL

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Sadly, Tim passed away at Manchester Children’s Hospital, Intensive Care Unit in September from an aggressive brain tumour, aged 13.  His illness was very sudden and shocked his friends and family.  I wanted to do something to remember him, and hopefully raise some money towards the iMRI Scanner Appeal.  This will help purchase state-of-the-art equipment to help other families.

Tim attended Walton-Le-Dale High School where I work.  One of his favourite songs was, "I would walk 500 Miles" by The Proclaimers.  I wondered how I could incorporate this into a charity event.  After much thought I have decided to climb the Three Peaks (Snowdon/Scafell Pike/Ben Nevis) and cycle in-between them, in seven days.

Tim loved life and was very active outdoors, and Tim said before he died “I’ve had a wonderful life haven’t I Mum!”

My challenge schedule is as
follows -

DAY ONE: Monday 29th July 2019. Hike Snowdon (8 miles). Cycle to Prestatyn, Wales (55 miles)

DAY TWO: Tuesday 30th July 2019.  Cycle Prestatyn to Preston (82 miles)

DAY THREE: Wednesday 31st July 2019.  Cycle Preston to Eskdale YHA (70 miles)

DAY FOUR: Thursday 1st August 2019.  Hike Scafell Pike (6 miles).  Cycle to Carlisle (40 miles)

DAY FIVE: Friday 2nd August 2019.  Cycle to Glasgow (105 miles)

DAY SIX: Saturday 3rd August 2019.  Cycle to Fort William (103 miles)

DAY SEVEN: Sunday 4th August 2019.  Hike Ben Nevis (8.5 Miles)

Many thanks to all those people who have offered help and support, especially Tim's family. If you would like to help and support in anyway please get in touch.
