Hello and welcome to my page. For those of you who don’t know me I’m a retired Police Sergeant aged 76 years old. I have already raised £40,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital by cycling various long distance rides including London to Paris 4 times. Last year I cycled 500 miles around the mountains of Northern Scotland which I can honestly say was one of the most toughest rides I have ever completed. I was asked by the hospital GOSH this year if I could do one more cycle ride for them. I gave this a lot of consideration as I’m starting to feel my age now but I have decided to complete my own 500 mile cycle ride around England starting at Newcastle Upon Tyne, passing through the Yorkshire Dales, Derbyshire Peak District and crossing into Lincolnshire where I will follow the coast all the way back through Norfolk, Suffolk and finally back home to Essex. 

Great Ormond is the best children’s hospital in the UK and saves countless children’s lives each year. I have seen for myself the work they do at the hospital and how dedicated each and everyone of the staff are. On a recent visit to the hospital I met one of the consultants and mentioned to him that I myself had life saving open heart surgery and was shocked to hear he had carried out the same operation on a 6 month old baby, who made a full recovery and now leading a normal life. 

My aim is to support the hospital for as long as I can and for as long as my health holds up.
