Story
On Sunday the 19th of April, St George’s Hospital Boat Club and friends will begin our 7 day challenge, where we will aim to travel 1 meter for every NHS front line worker - 1.5 million meters in total. This is the George’s for George’s 7 day 1.5 million meter challenge.
In doing so we hope to raise £3000 for the St George’s Hospital Charity’s Coronavirus appeal. This money will help St George’s Hospital in its time of need, buying medical equipment and supplies, as well as providing staff with accommodation, mental health support, and welfare initiatives - not just for now, but in the weeks and months to come.
Across the 7 days we will ask those taking part to help us reach our 1.5 million meter goal by cycling, running, rowing, walking or any other means while adhering to the current government guidance. Please only leave the house to exercise once a day and ensure you're observing social distancing rules.
Please help us by getting involved in our challenge!
To get involved:
1. Starting Sunday the 19th of April until Saturday the 2nd of May, do any activity that helps us reach our 1.5 million meter goal. Make sure the activities follow government advice. Examples could be going for a run or cycle, or even just going for a walk. If you have equipment at home such as rowing machines be sure to use these!
2. Share a picture or video of you doing the activity to social media tagging us: @sghbc1839 on instagram, @SGHBC on twitter, or our facebook page. Also use the hashtags: #GeorgesForGeorges #TeamGeorges
3. Log your meters on our tracker on our website so we can see how close we are to reaching our goal. The tracker can be found at sghbc.co.uk/tracker.
4. Donate to our JustGiving page, and encourage your friends and family to do the same!
Thank you so much! We can't wait to see all the ways you get involved!
